Lasting Weight Loss Is All in Your Head
In the pages that follow I will lead you on your own journey so
that you, too, can arrive at a place where your mind and emotions
are driving your desire to lose weight and become fit on both a
conscious and subconscious level. You will be using your mind to
direct your body and working toward fitness from the inside out.
And, as a result, I can promise you that you will become thin,
trim, fit, and as beautiful on the outside as you are on the
inside.
There are many books on many subjects including physical fitness
that tell people what to do, which, in my opinion, is a lot like
writing on someone else’s blackboard with your own chalk. What that
means is that they want you to see things from their perspective,
while I will be asking you to consider your own perspective and see
whether shifting the way you see yourself in relation to the world
might not serve you better. I believe that most of us already know
what we should be doing to lose weight and improve fitness. In
fact, with all the information on exercise and nutrition coming at
us from the media every day, it would be almost impossible not to
know. The problem is that for most people there’s still a large
disconnect between knowledge and action. No one has yet addressed
teaching you how to shift your thoughts so that you are able to go
from knowing to doing.
What I intend is to take you through the very same steps I followed
to arrive at the place I am today: mentally, emotionally, and
physically. I will certainly provide all the information you need
about what kinds of foods to eat and what kinds of exercise
programs will work for your individual goal and level of fitness,
but that’s part two of the plan. First I’m going to provide you
with the information and understanding you need to have so that you
will be able to follow through with the program I lay out and
actually achieve what you want.
The bottom line is that goals are achieved when the right
information is loaded into the subconscious part of your brain.
It’s a question of mind over body! In the pages that follow, I will
teach you how to harness the power of your subconscious mind to
build the fit and fabulous body you want but have never before been
able to achieve.
Before we begin, however, I want to point out that my professional
expertise lies in helping people to achieve health and fitness,
which is, of course, the focus of this book. Personally, however, I
know that all the information I’ll be giving you can be used to
achieve whatever you truly desire in every aspect of your life. All
these techniques are designed to create balance of body, mind, and
spirit, which is all anyone needs to banish stress, defeat fear,
overcome failure, and bring more happiness into his or her
life.

New Year's resolutions are a total waste of
time for the majority of people.
Why? Because they are not backed by the right
mental preparation and conditioning.
I know that's a bold statement, but how many years have you been
making resolutions, only to find that within two or three weeks
you've given up?
The fact is, relying upon will power, resolve and persistence is
absolutely the worst way to achieve your new goals. These things
are controlled by your conscious mind, which is responsible for
only about 2-4 percent of your day-to-day actions and
perceptions.
The truth is, due to your habits, you've become conditioned to stay
at the same weight, income or in the same mediocre relationship. An
internal financial or weight "set point" is conditioned deep in
your subconscious so that you don't have to think about the
day-to-day activities you need to do to maintain it.
Believe it or not, once any image, habit or belief is ingrained in
your subconscious brain, you automatically seek out situations and
behave in ways that resonate with that "internal image." Now, if
you currently don't like the results you are witnessing with your
weight, job, income or relationships, then you must break the old
patterns and old conditioning that's causing them.
How is this possible? Well, NASA has proven that breaking
subconscious patterns takes 30-60 days of brain retraining.
You see, if you do not "re-train" your subconscious brain at the
same time you make the decision to lose weight or make more money,
for example, you will within very short order return to your old
weight and income patterns and in most cases gain even more weight
back– and that's why, despite the best intentions, the vast
majority of New Year's resolutions are not kept.
Simply put, there is a "cybernetic trigger" in your brain. It
detects any change from your current situation, no matter what is,
and it overrides your will power and forces you to behave in
accordance with your old habits. Hence, the same results repeat
themselves, because of the same thought patterns and behavioral
patterns. It works exactly like the thermostat in your home that
automatically picks up any change in room temperature and then
makes corrections to return things to "normal."
In essence, this automatic "trigger" causes you to rationalize why
you're not sticking with your diet or new income plan, and
basically forces you to revert to your old habits and
patterns.
Think about this: When you break the word "rationalize" in two, you
get "rational-lies." The internal self-talk you catch yourself
doing is automatic, and a result of the system doing its job to
keep you at your "comfort zone," even though it's not what you
want.
What does all this mean to you? Your income, your body and your
relationships are only expressions of the internal self-image you
have at a deep-rooted level. If you want to see permanent changes
on the outside, you must retrain the mental image on the inside
first.
So it adds up to this: If you truly want to make permanent changes
in your life, it takes about 15 minutes a day of mental retraining
for 30-60 days. The more you do this, the faster you'll see
results. The good news is that you can't get a brain hernia if you
overdo it.
