WEST JORDAN, Utah (AP) A 4-year-old girl called 911 and calmly
answered questions for seven minutes until paramedics could reach
her unconscious mother.
``We do get calls from kids (but) a lot of them are scared and are
not sure what to say,'' dispatcher Emilee Burr said. ``Mikayla did
an awesome job. ... She was probably better than some
adults.''
Mikayla Erickson called 911 Wednesday after her mother fell down
the stairs at their West Jordan home.
Tiffani Erickson had been experiencing headaches, dizziness and
fainting spells after a snowboarding crash six weeks ago.
``Do you know how far she fell?'' Burr asked Mikayla.
``She fell all the way down from the top,'' the girl responded,
adding that her
mother was unconscious but not bleeding.
Erickson was taken to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray and
released a few hours later.
``You're my hero,'' she told her daughter.
The reward for Mikayla: lip gloss that tastes like chocolate-dipped
strawberries.
