just a few miles from Tahoe City sits a world of
spirited and unpretentious big mountain haunt for skiers and
riders. Offering a solid balance of beginner through expert
terrain,
some of Alpine Meadows’ best aspects include spectacular views of
the Lake, tons of bowl skiing, and long-time locals as staff. Head
to the Ice Bar on the backside of the mountain at any time of day
to join fellow riders for a beer, a dose of sun and the view of
Ward Peak from a plastic lawn chair.
