I only had my 1995 318i for a good year and a half and all of a sudden out of the blues my car won't finish the process of starting. I can feel my car jumping, something is spinning, and my car don't go. My dad think it was the starter, what do you think or do i need a new tranny?

The car does not start nor the engine run. I would turn the key to start the car, but nothing happens. The lights, power windows, lighting works, except that the car does not run. I tried to press the gas pedal 3x while turning the key, but no result. Nothing cranking in the engine, nothing igniting. The car still will not start. Once I pull out the key, I hear 10 buzzing sounds. I'm guessing that's some kind of code, but what does it mean?? The auto shop "claimed" that they changed the starter, but my car still will not start. Do you think they lied about changing the starter or it's not the starter?? It only took them 2 hrs to change the starter, is that possible?? I hear it takes almost 8-10 hrs to change the starter. Then, they suggested that I needed to change the tranny, but are they lying to me?? I guess it's because I'm a girl and they are misleading me on and profitting from my lack of knowledge about cars. What do you think is the REAL problem? What steps would you give me to check and help the car start?? PLLEAAASE help me! Thank you.

You sound like you have very limited experience with cars and may have a bad mechanic.Two hours is plenty of time to change a starter but why you would now need a transmission makes no sence.
I think you need to find anouther place to work on you car.
