The good: Solar-powered; multiple alarms; Split Stopwatch mode; atomic clock synchronization; start/stop-time recording; keeps time in multiple time zones.

The bad: Synchronization signal reception weak in urban areas; recessed buttons hard to press; device is chunky and heavy.

The bottom line: We wouldn't rely too heavily on the G-Shock's flakey atomic-clock-signal reception, but otherwise, it makes for a fine rugged watch.
