  • Last night I carefully removed the fake-glue-on-fur-lining from a 3yo leather(real) coat. It was getting too small from gym-work so had to do something. Took 3 hours with a small scissor. After, it fitted *perfect* and looked much better. I was stoked. Now I can wear it with hoodies too, and IMO it looks super sleek and modern! Also it no longer needs to be freezing for me to wear it. ***SUCCESS***

Just for fun, I tried it on inside out. Holy jesus jacked up christ!!! Never before have I looked so freaky good in anything in such totally fucked up way. My peacocking will evolve around this from now on!

Sum up from previous thread on this:

    -Google keyword: DIY Fashion

    -Spray painting

-Gonna test bleaching and acid washing.
-I've tried using dishwashing soap on some jeans to beach them, just put your jeans flat on the floor, and put the soap on wherever you want to bleach, it must be the liquid stuff, leave it for a hour or more if you want to bleach it more, put a plastic bag inside of the jean so the bleach can't get to the other side. When it's bleached, just wash it thoroughly. Make sure the dish soap is WHITE, if it is yellowish, it will leave your bleach a bit yellowish, it's great if your jeans are very dark blue or if they have a tad of yellowish tint with their coloring. I modded some jeans into saying "ELVIS LIVES" from side to side with the soap, each on each leg. Also, when your pants are already bleached, don't use water to wash them off, it will still be belaching, use vinegar, to neutralize the bleach and dishwashing soap
    -ENHANCE WASH/BLEACH STAINS:
Buy a clorox bleach pen. It's the most amazing invention ever. Using the
brush side, put some evenly painted bleach on your wash. the more bleach
you use, the more it will lighten it.
-To make bleach stains, take bleach and, as before, dip a brush in it.
Gently flick it to the desired ammount.

-I also modify/mix my chains/jewelry - easy with 2 pincers. And I also mod my jewelry and chains with heavy pincers, but I hate to scratch the metal, spite the fact that it is almost invisible, but I keep seeing the scratches and I get pissed off. So put some cloth between the pincers and metal, and then grip it and twist it. You're home free with this!

-I also need to get into using textile paint (the thick flowing type you can get from hobby stores. White designs on black is my new thing and I got a ton of old black stuff, and I always liked drawing/painting.
    -VINTAGE PAINT SPLATER:
Take a brush, and dip it in white paint. Make sure the most of it drips
off into the can. Walk over to your jeans and gently FLICK the brush.
Different sizes and shapes will scatter over the jeans, creating a
    really cool effect.

    -Removing details/pockets
-I have some very nice details on some shirts and pants. So I cut them off with some scissors, then I sow them or better said, have them sown on some new pants, I try to have them in matching color.

    -Sandpaper rubbing
-Fully sand my jeans, just a bit, and have some parts washed with sandstone so it can give a brown color, that way they will have a real wasted look and that way the jeans will also be very soft.

-Painting them with all sorts of details, using your cardboard idea.

-I also tend to put my jeans in a nice strong brew of coffee overnight, that way it will get a very nice brown color and not only just plain old white.

-AH! I had this sent in a while ago. It shows how you can imbed LEDs in your clothing to have some light on it http://www.grynx.com/index.php/projects/make-your-own-wearable-led-display/

    -Tearing holes
-Scraping Jeans with a sharp Knife to make thin tear lines, no more than 2 mm wide, I do these in groups of 3 downward.
    -VINTAGE DESTRUCTION
Just cutting a hole in the jeans looks super tacky, and even after
fraying, it looks cliche. To get the desired abercrombie "Missing denim
but attached threads" look, you are gonna need PATIENCE.

At the masking taped areas, make a HORIZONTAL incision on the top and
bottom of the jeans. Turn the piece around (to as far as it will go) and
you will see that the jeans are Cross stiched White and denim. The
object of making the look is to use to bok cutter to LEFT the White
part, and then remove the denim thread.

***NOTE*** To make a abercrombie Kneecap hole, make 3 horizontal cuts.
Using the Middle piece, de-thread and pull the white threads to the
side, so eventual clumps of white thread start appearing. When half way
through the top, flip it around and start working the thread to the
other side of the knee cap. When finished, pull out the loose denim.
After accomplishing this, take the box cutter and make the hole in the
knee cap more "square" on the right and left sides. This way, when you
walk, it will be an opened hole, not closed.
