Reed College seeks an experienced communicator to act as senior editor of the college’s quarterly magazine and high profile print and web publications, and work with the Director of Public Affairs to devise and execute overall communication strategy for one of the nation’s most distinctive and admired liberal arts colleges. The Editor/Associate Director will oversee every aspect of magazine operations, from developing story ideas and departmental sections, to assigning and supervising writing and graphic design, to overseeing production and budgets, and will work with the Director of Public Affairs supporting all of the college’s print and electronic communications. Special emphasis will be placed on collaborating with the admission, development, alumni & parent relations, and student services units. Requirements include a bachelor's degree in English or a comparable field with a strong background in publications management, writing, and copy editing; sophisticated knowledge of graphic design, print production, and electronic communication. High-level experience in an educational nonprofit setting desirable.
