According to researchers, women may be at risk to their health by
using old/vintage makeup. They are susceptible to infections from
old lipstick, mascara and moisturizer. Studies show women in their
late thirties or forties use some makeup that is over five years
old. Beauty experts slap health w arning on lipsticks past their
sell-by date.
Makeup should come with expiration dates. Mascara has a shelf life
of about six months. Foundation and lipstick are also easily
absorbed into the skin and should be discarded every three to six
months.
