With the introduction of the Singapore Biometric Passport (BioPass)
on 15 August 2006, can I still use my existing passport?
Yes. As long as your passport has at least 6 months of remaining
validity, you can continue to use it for your travels*. If you are
travelling to the US, as long as your passport is machine-readable,
you can continue to enjoy visa-free travel to the US up to 90 days
under the Visa Waiver Program. All our passports issued locally
from 2 January 1991 are machine-readable. Hence, there is no need
for citizens to apply for the BioPass if their existing Singapore
passports are valid.
