Comments...number 6 actually looks fun. actually several look fun if it was 20 years ago.
I'd rather play several of these over their current day counterparts, but I have a MAME cabinet, so I'm biased.
these are really cool! i love 8 and 16-bit art
It would be awesome if someone would do this in this decade.
so.. 20 years ago every game looked like an iphone game? i cant remember that..
better depiction of RDR would be sunset riders.
Seriously, some days, I would settle for the 20 years ago World of Warcraft if it would cut down on my lag.
Metal Gear did come out 20 years ago…and that's what it looked
like.
The others were funny though.
shouldn't the 'mario cart 20 years ago' be a screen shot of the mario cart that came out 20 years ago?

As a fellow artist, please do remove your watermarks from his
artwork. Just because you hang "Starry Night" or "Dogs Playing
Poker" on your wall doesn't mean you can put your logo all over
them.
I am more compelled by the old version remixes…
This is lazy blogging! The Metal Gear series is over 25 years old, there are 20+ year old Batman games from NES and Atari you could pull screens from (I played them so I know they exist) and Mario Cart is over 18 years old! Do some research and pull the screens! The others are just trite.
"Lol. I didn't see a Final Fantasy Xiii, but other than that, pretty cool"
Are you serious with this? They had that. It was called Final Fantasy.
I believe #18 is a remake of Red Dead Revolver. Red Dead Redemption has no Bosses.

Swedish gambling giant Unibet has bought a 25.9% stake in Bingo.com for $2.25 million. The deal values Bingo.com at just under $10 million.
The purchase follows the decision in March to join Unibet's bingo network, shortly after Bingo.com had announced it was switching software providers from Parlay Entertainment to Cozy Games.
Tarrnie Williams, chief executive of Bingo.com, said: “Bingo.com is pleased to have secured a private placement from Unibet. With one of the World's leading gaming operators as both an investor and operational partner, Bingo.com will now have the resources to support its brand in a number of emerging online bingo markets. We very much look forward to taking on a leading role in the expansion of online bingo worldwide.”
Petter Nylander, chief executive of Unibet, said: “Investing in Bingo.com, one of the strongest bingo brand names in the industry, is exciting for us. We believe in the power of the Bingo.com URL and believe that Bingo.com will be a leader in online bingo for years to come. We look forward to growing our businesses together in existing and new markets.”
One rival bingo operator said: “It's a very interesting deal, not least because it was widely thought that Bingo.com does not actually own its domain name but in fact leases it from a third party. It would be fascinating to see if Unibet has now made certain that the url is actually owned by the corporation because without that the company is worth sharply less than you might otherwise think.”
Unibet already owns one of the strongest bingo operators in Scandinavia, Maria Bingo, and it will be interesting to see how Bingo.com is positioned by the company post Unibet's investment. Maria Bingo was bought in December 2007. Unibet has been on a trail of acquisitions, including Travnet, a Scandinavian trotting community, in April 2008.

The day when we all celebrate love
is near; you know that wonderful feeling that we all feel whether
it be for a partner, our children, our parents or our friends. If
you want to have a fun evening this February 14th how about
gathering your friends together and playing these fun games?
Bingo
You will need the following:
Instructions:
Print the bingo cards and callboard and paste it onto a piece of
cardboard. Cut out the numbers to be called and put them in a hat.
Draw a bingo number and call it out. Play until someone calls a
"Love Bingo". Give away prizes to the winners.
Love Pictionary
You will need the following:
Divide your friends into groups of
two. If all your friends have a partner then skip this step. On a
blank sheet make a list of different things related to love like
chocolate, box of chocolates, bouquet of roses, engagement ring,
candles, rose petals, etc.. Cut each of them separately. A member
of the first group chooses one of these without looking and then
makes a drawing on the board of what it says on the paper. His
fellow group must guess what is being drawn within 60 seconds. Then
move to the next group and so on. Make the game at least 3 rounds.
The winning couple is the one that guesses the most items
correctly.
Identify your partner
These are some little ideas for you to spend a phenomenal
Valentine's day with loved ones; try any or all of them or you can
put your personal touch by making some changes. What matters most
is that you share Valentines Day with the special people in our
lives. Happy Valentine's Day to all!

I am so stuck on a video game
right now. Should I rage quit, read a walkthrough or just cry out
to the Internet via random forums to help me?
Each of those ideas presents problems to me as a gamer. Rage quitting is usually beneath me as a lady. Walkthroughs are only for use when I need to get through a game quickly for work purposes. And asking the Internet for help – particularly on puzzle games where there's no way to give hints without just telling you the solution – just feels wrong.
Obviously, my circumstances are different from the average gamer's because I have publicists for many games on speed dial. However, I don't like to abuse these connections when I'm playing a game for fun and not for review purposes. So instead, I usually stick to a ritual of behavior.
First, I pause the game during the part where I'm stuck. It could be a bum boss battle, a room where I can't figure out how to progress or at a point where I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing or where I'm supposed to go. I'm the level-headed type, so I assume that this must be a case of user-error. Maybe I need to review my stats or my gameplay objectives and make sure I'm not under-leveled or something. This solved my stuck problem during that level with the train in Valkyria Chronicles.
If that doesn't work, I usually double back in the game to look for a special item or grind my level up in the case of bum boss fights. I usually don't have to do this because I'm a completion-obsessed gamer who searches every area, breaks every crate and fights every random encounter just for the experience points. But, hey, sometimes I missed a crate – sometime I forget to check the shops for all the armor upgrades. So maybe being stuck really is my fault. This tactic resolved an ugly boss fight in Tales of Vesperia – you know, the one with the demo boss only he's way harder in the retail game? And you can't go back and grind very much because the road is cut off?
Above: Sometimes, it's not your
fault...
The third time, though, I stop blaming myself and indignation sets in. Why would they make a game this hard? How could I possibly have missed whatever it is I need to get past this point? What is wrong with the developers that they make something I can't figure out? This is a dangerous line of thinking because it's a small step away from a rage quit unbecoming of a lady. It also has way of contaminating the rest of my opinion of the game. Which is why I never finished the first Modern Warfare on Xbox 360 (stupid barn mission with the tanks – why don't you shoot them, Price, while I try not to die for the millionth time!).
The final part of my ritual is to quit the game – not rage quit, mind you; just a normal save and quit – and sleep on it preferably ‘til a Saturday morning. Then I come back to it while in my jammies with some cereal, the same way I played many a video game on Saturday morning as a child. It calms me down, gives me a fresh perspective and reminds me that games are supposed to be fun. This totally saved my experience with Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (I hate you, Vamp – die in a fire).
There are exceptions and games that totally defeated my ritual, of course. I broke down and used a walkthrough on The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time after two and half years of wasted Saturday mornings ($%#&ing Water Temple!); I also looked up a puzzle solution in Puzzle Quest because I really wanted to capture a Wight or something and just couldn't figure it out.
But for gamers out there like myself who sometimes hit a wall with games we love (or would love to try and love), I ask you: How do you deal with being stuck?

I definitely think Mario RPG should be on this list. And I think Super Mario Land (SNES) is my favorite of all time. Also, Super Mario Bros. Wii was a fun and welcome addition introducing fun multi-playing-side-scrolling action. I'm sure I'm missing another one, too.
Posted 09/20/2010 at 10:26:51 AMNow... I'm a HUGE Mario fan, but here's the problem... The title of this list is the 10 best SUPER Mario games. That immediately disqualifies titles like Dr. Mario and Mario Golf. It also disqualifies the Mario Kart titles and Legend of the Seven Stars because the games, even though they have "super" in their titles, aren't platformers. The Super Mario Bros. series are the platform titles. Everything else is just a Mario game.
Posted 09/20/2010 at 11:21:12 AMWell, if it changes things for you at all, Dread - I changed the title that Rich originally had on the post. He called it the best Mario games. I added the "super" because it makes the list easier to Google.
So feel free to disregard the "Super" in the title.
Posted 09/20/2010 at 12:47:57 PM@Zoss: That explains a lot. One word makes a big difference. That's all.
Still doesn't explain, though, why Legend of the Seven Stars isn't on the list. :o|

Posted 09/20/2010 at 01:23:20 PMMario Tennis on N64. Hands down.
Posted 09/20/2010 at 01:53:23 PMNo Mario RPG and no Smash Brothers????
Posted 09/20/2010 at 02:01:16 PMwhere the heck is Mario RPG - BEST EVER
Posted 09/20/2010 at 02:30:11 PMMario Golf, and no Paper Mario? really?
Posted 09/20/2010 at 02:41:53 PMLook closely at the YouTube video linked here for "Super Mario World" ... this video is from a pirate ROM cartridge of a Super Mario World remake for the NES, not the actual SNES version. You can tell by the limited color palette, different map layout, different enemies in the level, etc ... funny that it would be used as an example of the real Super Mario World game!
Posted 09/20/2010 at 03:01:58 PMThey left off the best mario game, Mario RPG....
Posted 09/20/2010 at 03:06:19 PMWhat about mario tennis?! that was a good one
