CASA BRITONA - AT A
GLANCE
For those in search of something a little different to the beach,
Casa Britona is an intimate, attractive guest house on the
backwaters of the Mandobi River. Converted from a 300 year old
customs warehouse by award-winning Goan architect Dean D'Cruz,
there are just six atmospheric
rooms built on two floors each with their own pleasant veranda
and river views. There’s a cooling swimming pool shaded by coconut
trees, wooden decking for eating or lounging, and two river studios
nearby - studio guests can use the hotel facilities.
The tiny fishing village of Britona is a pleasant place to stroll,
while the faded colonial buildings, baroque churches and markets of
Panjim and the sandy beaches of north Goa are all within a half
hour drive. With friendly, helpful staff and comfortable rooms, it
would make a peaceful base for groups of friends, families and
holidaying couples alike – you can even hire out the whole house if
you so choose. |
