Largest online poker site today . - Download Pokerstars and you know you're playing at the largest poker site in the world. Established in 2000 with a huge player base (on average between 40,000 to 100,000 players online at any one time) you'd be hard pressed to not find a game at PokerStars. PokerStars appears to be mostly geared towards the USA market which only really matters in the big money guaranteed tournaments. Although the Sunday Million starts at 9.30pm GMT (4.30 ET), it has a massive field of over 6000 entrants and doesn't usually finish until 6 or 7am GMT (1am - 2am ET). Not really an option for most Europeans who have to go to work monday morning. The Nightly $100,000 MTT doesn't even start until 2am GMT (9pm ET). It seems however that PokerStars have been listening to their European players and have recently introduced a weekly Sunday $400k which kicks off at 5.45pm GMT (12.45 ET), you can enter this tourney through a satellite from only $3 - great stuff PokerStars!



Tournaments . PokerStars can always be relied on to have plenty Sit and Go's and multi table tournaments to suit your fancy whenever you pop in. Apart from the aforementioned weekly $1 million, $350k and nightly $100,000, there are plenty of guaranteed tournaments running 24/7. I had quite a comical time trying to join a $5 Sit and Go, the table was always full by the time I clicked the register and 'ok' buttons - some Ninja mouse clicking is required to sit down! They also have a healthy tournament program in Omaha, Razz and HORSE. As an official sponsor of the EPT and a member of the WPT, there's a full program of live game satellites.

Software . A breed apart from most other online poker rooms, Bodog has broken the mould with it's sleek and professional graphics, you can customise almost everything with their independent software. I know the multitablers out there will love the 3 table mini view feature, although it's a shame that 3 tables is the maximum you can have open at any one time.

The learning curve can be quite steep when you first get started with Bodog, things aren't where you would expect to find them on other online poker sites. I kept closing down the software by accident when I tried to close a tournament lobby, but persevere with it as once you've got the hang of it Bodog is top-notch and well worth the time investigating it's many features.



Tournaments .Bodog offers plenty of tournaments at buy-ins to suit everyone. Their Sunday 100k, 9pm GMT (4pm ET) has qualifiers that run regularly all week starting at just $1 or you can buy-in directly for $109, you can even enter for free using 250 BPP's (Bodog Poker Points) to buy into a MTT where 1 in 27 receives a main event seat. You can also use your loyalty points to buy-in to to their t$ (tournament dollars) tournaments and build your points up to enter any tournament you choose. For the hardcore tournament players out there, make it to the top of their weekly leaderboard and you could be playing a $1000 heads up match against Josh Arieh, Evelyn Ng or David Williams. The top 30 monthly runners up all receive varying amounts of tournament credits to spend as they choose.

Cash Games .The cash games at Bodog have a good amount of traffic, the highest level is $10/$20 (max buy-in $1000) where you can always find a game, but it's at the micro limits that Bodog really excels with it's high traffic and soft games. No limit cash games at Bodog are listed in the lobby as 'maximum buy-ins' instead of blinds, which can be a bit confusing at first, but there are usually plenty of tables to choose from. Texas Holdem is definitely the game of choice at Bodog, but you can also find Omaha, Omaha hi/lo, 5 Stud and 7 Stud games running at peak hours.

Competition . Is it me or is this place full of fish? Maybe it's because alot of players are really sports and track enthusiasts giving a poker a go for a change, but most nights you can find tables with a player / flop percentage in the 60's, 70's and even 80's.

Full Tilt's independent software is packed full of features. You can choose your own preferred background, as well as a new racetrack view instead of the classic round table view. Their cartoon avatars have emotion options, letting the table know how you feel. If you earn enough FTP's (Full Tilt points) to become a VIP you even have the option of having a custom avatar made! There's also a lovely little feature building on the traditional notes system where you can colour code your opponents - very useful. There's also a full range of European languages supported (see the list on the left hand side for details).



Tournaments . There's a guaranteed weekly prizepool of over $5 million at Full Tilt, so even though the weekly Sunday $750,000 guaranteed starts 11pm GMT (4pm ET), there's still plenty to interest the European players. I found the MTT tournament lobby a little frustrating as the guarantees and satellite details aren't displayed until you click each tournament listing, I hope this is sorted out in the next upgrade. There is an attempt at colour coding the tournaments, but I found them to be a bit vague and inconsistent. Despite that, I would still highly recommend Full Tilt for tournament players as there's an immense amount of choice, with buy-ins to suit all budgets.



The Sit n Go's at Full Tilt receive a lot of traffic 24/7, there's a choice of multi-table or single table Sit and Go's at all levels. With even the high stakes tables starting regularly around the clock.



Last August FTOPS V was a phenomenal success but Full Tilt Poker have topped it with the bigger and better Full Tilt Online Poker Series VI (FTOPS VI). Starting on November 7th and running for 12 days, there are 15 events with over $9m in prizes. Cash games . I've read in most other reviews that the Full Tilt cash games have a lack of players. Not so at all!
