High magnification, versatile illumination, and multi-angle viewing make this tri-fold mirror from Jerdon a virtual cockpit of makeup application. Structured for panoramic viewing, the mirror features two adjustable side panels, plus a center section with regular reflection on one side and 5X magnification on the other. Two bars of fluorescent lighting offer cool, glare-free illumination, and the color-correct light menu lights your face for day or evening, the office or home. A built-in outlet accommodates curling irons and roller sets, while an adjustable backstand offers 11 angles to work from. The entire unit folds up flat for storage.
Though the mirror does not feel as substantial as the company's
all-metal models, it does roll several features into one compact
model. In addition, the reflection is consistently clear, and the
side panels stay put where you place them. Fully extended, the
mirror measures 19 by 12 inches. Jerdon includes a one-year
warranty. --Emily Bedard

Jilian Said: Great Mirror! ( Aug. 8th 2008 )
I purchased this mirror several months ago and use it every day. I am very pleased with it. The lights are bright enough to be able to see well in a pitch-dark room, the settings are perfect for getting rid of pesky shadows, and the magnification is just right to see every little detail. I have not had any issue with the bulbs - they are still as bright and functional as they day I got the mirror (yes, you do have to hold down the 'on' switch for a few seconds to pre-charge the bulbs). I would definitely recommend this product to anyone seeking a lighted makeup mirror, either for a dark room or otherwise.
Mamo Said: Excellent Replacement for the Conair True Reflections II ( Aug. 5th 2008 )
Bought this mirror, love it! If you're looking to replace the Conair True Reflections II, this is the model you want. My mom passed her used Conair down to me when my dad gave her a new one...I'd had it for years when one of the doors broke and couldn't be fixed...I lived with it this way for many more years and finally decided I'd buy a new one for myself for my birthday. WHAT!!?? They don't make that Conair any more??? UGH! After some searching I found this one (hated the round models, hated the incandescent models), read lots of reviews, struggled with the idea of ordering this one sight unseen and shipping mirrors through the mail--EGADS!--what if the mirror broke in transit, then I'd have to send it back, etc... Can I tell you how much I LOVE THIS MIRROR?! It has slightly more magnification than the Conair model but it's all the better to see you with my dear! And the mirror pivots on the horizontal rather than vertical so it can be adjusted either by using the "kick stand" in the back or by adjusting the vertical tilt. And the manufacturer has added a little sticker over the on/off switch for those who have no understanding/patience for florescent bulbs (see, I did read the reviews) but, if you recall, you had to hold down the on switch for the Conair as well. Excellent price, Excellent product. It's been a long time since I've been this satisfied with a mirror. LOL, hope this helps you make your decision!
Jean M. Porro Said: review for Jerdon JGL9W Mirror ( Aug. 4th 2008 )
I think that this product is okay. The lights on the product are too small and therefore it does not have the ability to give off enough light that one needs to do there make-up. The magnification of the mirror is fine and the different selections for the type of light, such as day, office or night is great. But the only flaw that I find is the lights itself on the sides they are not bright enough.
R. Fogerty Said: very bright ( Aug. 2nd 2008 )
This lighted mirror is actually really nice. I have bought previous lighted mirrors, and they just weren't that bright. I really like the "day" setting. The price is right, and I recommend this product.
Kimberley Closson Said: Not like the ConAir, could be better ( Jul. 23rd 2008 )
First off, the gels for the lighting are not the best- they don't give the same colored light cast on left & right. Also, this mirror is attached horizontally, meaning the mirrors flip end over end & not left to right. For those who may be wondering why this matters, with the Conair (sp?), the mirror spins left/right, so if you want to see a side-shot of your face, you can. Not with this one. Side mirrors only close when regular mirror is faced forward. If you MUST have a less expensive tri-fold mirror, this is okay, but you'll be disappointed if you had a conair one and are replacing it.
