As a Volunteer Minister I particularly love the section on our work. But the whole thing smokes.
The notion that Jesus is God had been a idea that has been touted as an concept and philosophy that is virtually unchallengeable , irrefutable and unflappable. Indoctrination and brainwashing has reduced us to complacency and fear of retribution and backlash if the thought of even challenging this theory as to whether or not Jesus is actually God (in the sense that the majority of the people consider God to be). Here is my perspective as to why Jesus, or any other man, is not God or any part of God, whether it be as a son, a nephew a brother, etc.
Based on my conversations and discussions with people that claim to be staunch believers in the theory that Jesus Christ is God, I have reached the conclusion that the sheer essence of the theory tends to cause confusion amongst some of the most devoted of followers when it comes time to explain, rationally not emotionally, the premise of their beliefs. In other words , they get so frustrated by their inability to put their explanations in cogent, rational and logical perspectives that they resort to the "just have faith" statements which absolves them from having to take the discussion any further. From these circumstances I have gathered the following reasons why I know that Jesus Christ is not God.
The Bible Does Not Say That Jesus is God
- Strong and convincing overt proof that the Bible cannot be relied upon as holy or even authentic is evidenced by the fact that there are numerous versions of the Bible that not only are written in a manner that suits the writer, but even goes as far as leaving out whole sections or books within the Bible, connoting one as the Protestant Bible, the other as the Catholic Bible, the other as the Mormon Bible, so on and so forth.
- This alone is unacceptable and thus cannot be looked upon as being "holy" or "The Word of God." The foundation is weak thus causing everything else built on top thereof to be just as weak.
The Premise is Too Fantastic
"God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son to die for our sins on the cross..." This statement, which is the creed of those that subscribe to the theory that Jesus Christ is God, is so fantastic and devoid of anything remotely sensible that it causes one to stop and ask himself just how intelligent is the human race? Taking this statement and examining it more concisely, thoughtful and more reasoned considerations take place that justify a solid position in believing and knowing that Jesus Christ was not, and is not, God.
Love and God . If a person that believes in God in the Christian faith additionally believes that God is All-Knowing, All-Powerful and All-Present, then it would be prudent to be more meticulous in defining what God understands. In other words, does God define the word "love" in the same manner as we do? To say that He does means that he has the same understanding and level of knowledge as the average human being. Furthermore, "love" is an emotion; would it be safe to assume that God has emotions? Emotions are purely human traits that often lead to destructive and fallible decisions. Is God open to making bad decisions? If one believes that God can love, then that also means that God can and has made bad decisions. You cannot love something and make totally objective unbiased decisions. Your thought process is tainted by your love and not based upon justice. And, when a person says that he/she loves something they are basically saying simultaneously that whatever it is that they love, they also need. Why would The Creator of the heavens and the earth and all things in between "need" anything? why would he need humans, a creation that has nothing whatsoever to offer that would make The Creator a better God? Putting this argument into perspective, the bottom line is that God needs no one but we all need Him and everything that is attributable to human characteristics and personalities is far below that of which can be attributed to The Creator.
Begotten Son. The term begotten in and of itself opens the door for the veracity and integrity of the Bible to be questioned. The term "begotten" generally means that there was sexual intercourse involved to cause the birth of a child. God having "sex" flies in the face of God being The Creator of all things as well as placing God in the form of a man, which is the only way that God could have had sex. Now, if the argument is raised that God directly intervened and caused Mary to become pregnant with child, that is somewhat different due to the fact that the assumption can be taken outside the realm of Jesus being "begotten." The miraclousness of the birth is really not that much of a miracle at all: Adam was born of no mother or father, a being made from literally nothing. That is a miracle that leaves no doubt. The fact that no one allegedly knows who the biological father of Jesus was is an argument that can be taken out on too many tangents.
The Death of God. Based on the commonly accepted Jesus theory, God/Jesus died and came back to prove ....?
This aspect even complicates the matter more. The death of one person was supposed to cause people to believe on an extraordinary level that our sins were being atoned for as a result of this single act. This only complicates matters more and surely The Creator of the creation could have found a better way to convince those at that time of His existence. Why would God be concerned whether or not we were aware of His existence anyway, when he could wipe us off of the face to the earth and start all over again. After all we have all but destroyed this beautiful creation and Him being Who He is knew that this was going to take place. To say otherwise is to support the belief that The Creator is dependent and reliant upon His Creation for some reason or the other.
After reading the few words that have been said herein it is clear that this can all become overwhelming and confusing, and, as is believed by the Christian faithful, God is not the author of confusion. That is one thing that I would agree with a Christian on is the fact that The Creator is not the author of confusion, but, if it is not The Creator (or God) who is causing the confusion, then who is?
For thousands and thousands of years. men recognizing the weakness in the faith and belief of those that called themselves Christians and the blind adherence to what other men told them about their faith, took this as an opening and tool to control men for their own selfish motives. The African peoples that were brought to America were indoctrinated and brainwashed into believing that the "whiteman" was their superior and even their God and God's book -- the Bible -- said so, so they should obey and submit themselves. The first few boatloads of slaves knew for a fact this was hogwash and refused to accept this , which led to their immediate execution and slaughter.
It is not difficult to believe that Jesus is not God or any part thereof. In the worst case scenario it is just as easy to believe that he is not God as it is to believe that he is God.
