Three years ago I visited Max
to undergo hypnotherapy to stop me smoking and being rather cynical
I never expected it to work. So we sat and, as I listened to his
words, my mind wandered to what I was to do that evening, where I
was to eat etc. while his words hardly seemed to register. And so
when all was said and done I left, had my night out and, it wan’t
until after a barrage of beer and wine had entered my person that I
looked around at 3 am and realized that I Had not smoked all night
(whereas I’d have finished off a good ten cigarettes at least by
then) and what’s more didn’t feel the need to. Curious indeed but
what is even more curious is that I stopped for good and I rarely
even consider the existence of the demon cigarettes today. "
Cigarette smoke
contains about 4,000 chemical constituents, including polycyclic
aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), which can cause lung, skin and even
bladder cancer. What's more, tobacco smoke is associated with
cardiovascular disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and
pancreatic disease, and is likely to be responsible for more deaths
than any other environmental exposure.
