The United Nations Special Rapporteur
on Freedom of Religion or Belief censured France over "the
different measures that were taken at the governmental and
parliamentary level in the second part of the 1990s (that)
undermined the right to freedom of religion or belief and raised
serious concerns about religious intolerance."

Wearing t-shirts that say "I'm a
Scientologist. Ask me your
questions," Scientologists have distributed a million broadsheets
in cities all over the country this week, informing citizens of the
many community programs the Church of Scientology provides.
On a popular bridge by the Notre Dame
Cathedral, crowds watch while a group of artists create a large
anti-drug banner. Volunteers from the "Say No to Drugs, Say Yes
to Life" group of the Church of Scientology of Paris, who
organized the event, reinforce the message by passing out
drug-education flyers and pamphlets.
The
Scientology Mission of Nice on the French Riviera in the South of
France is getting the word out this week on Dianetics Technology
and letting all the local tourists and interested public know how
to find out more about the subject—with a large banner towed by a
plane.
