Ground Zero in the wake of 9/11. The real value they were
providing there, quite in addition to the physical lives saved and
people helped, was a restoring of calm to the area so that people
could get on with what they needed to do.
That's not just mysticism or just "a bunch of nice people".

are trained in how to get the job done in such circumstances, which
anyone can also learn how to do regardless of your religion.
